Carol M. Goodman

Carol was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 20, 1942, to parents Theodore and Dorothy (nee Jozwick) and is survived by her loving husband James Goodman and sister, Cathy Griffith as well as her three children Mark Mecklenburg (Jill), Michelle Jurkonie (Glen) and David Mecklenburg.

Carol’s greatest joy came as a grandmother to her five grandchildren, Mallory Mecklenburg (Vincent), Madelyn Goodman, Mitchell Goodman, Ashely Jurkonie and Ryan Jurkonie who will each miss her spoiling. Carol’s favorite moments were always holiday dinners when the entire family gathered to celebrate. A lifelong animal lover, Carol was rarely without a pet dog or cat and became her neighborhood’s de-facto caretaker to its wildlife, providing countless meals to the animals lucky enough to live close to her.

Carol spent the first part of her working career in the data processing field where she met her husband, Jim. Prior to retiring, Carol had served as a department manager within Guaranteed Trust Life Insurance Company in Glenview. Always a hard worker, business associates closest to her will remember her as a task master with little patience for anyone who failed to bring her level of integrity and determination to any project at hand.

She will be interred at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
