Carol A. Latimer

Carol A. Latimer, 76, was born in Chicago, IL to James and Anne (nee Blaha) Bradac. She died Monday, May 16, 2022, at her home.

Carol grew up in the city of Chicago before going to Northern Illinois University where she met the love of her life, Russ, at a movie club they had both joined. She graduated with a Bachelors in Education and taught elementary school until her first son, Chris was born. She focused on raising her boys for many years before she was called back to teaching. She ended her career as a special education aide where she eventually retired. Carol and Russ enjoyed many road trips to Disney World, national parks and visiting cousins, trips to Hawaii, and cruises to Alaska, the Baltic Sea and the Caribbean. They also loved attending local concerts in the park or having game nights with friends, especially on New Year's Eve to see who won the title of "Queen of Everything."

She was most well known as "Nana", "Meemaw", or "Nena" and she cherished her time with her grandkids and grand puppies. You could often see her on the sidelines of many baseball, basketball, field hockey, football and soccer games as well as plays, choir and band concerts. She was known as one of the "best fans" to all of her grandkids' teams. She was kind, supportive, generous, and loved by anyone who met her. We will miss her dearly.

Carol is survived by her husband Russell; her sons, Chris (Jennifer) and Scott (Sue); her grandchildren, Caitlyn, Christine, James, Cody, and Lily; her sister, Betty (Tom) Bastable; her sisters-in-law, Rhonda (Steve) Brown and Wendy (Jeff) Morgan; and her nieces and nephews, Tracy, Todd, Drew, Bethany, Brooke, Blake, and Dylan.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the time of the Celebration of Carol's life at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment is private.
