Charlane Ann Shea

Charlane Ann Shea was born on September 16, 1952 in Massachusetts to James B. and Hatty L. (nee Rosenthal) Merchant. She died on November 25, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Arlington Heights after a long and valiant battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Char graduated Magna Cum Laude from Roosevelt University. She worked as a computer programmer and system analyst for Baxter Healthcare and then AT&T. She was an active runner who loved traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and her very special collection of angel figurines that gave her strength through very difficult times. She was also very proud of her Irish heritage.

Char is survived by her sons Ryan (Holly) Shea and Matt Shea; her grandchildren Hattie, Hudson & Parker Shea; as well as her brother Gary (Eileen) Merchant.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home: 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
