Survived by his wife of 65 years, Norma (nee Penelton); children William Dale (Kathryn) Bowes and Dawn Elaine (John) Nelson; granddaughter Stacey Lynn (Brian) Yates; great-grandchildren Stephanie, Jonathan, Nicholas and David. Daughter Cheryl Ann predeceased him. He was born in North Bay, Ontario Canada to William and Kathleen (nee Stewart) Bowes. He loved his family dearly.Attended the University of Toronto. MBA from the University of Chicago. Executive Director of the Chicago Meat Board (1950s). President of Rath Packing Company (1960s). Division President of Iowa Beef Processors "IBP" (1980s). Published 39 books for the meat industry. Most of his career, Cliff was a Consultant on Meats.Cliff was a Mason for 73 years. His life with the Masons began in 1942 at Dundurn Lodge in Hamilton, Ontario. He was a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. Most recently, he was with Ben Hur Lodge No. 818 where he served as a Past Master. Memorial Visitation Monday, June 22, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights IL 60004. Memorial Service Tuesday,June 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 1903 E. Euclid, Arlington Heights IL 60004 with visitation 1 hour before the service. Interment is private.
