Mr. David Walter Meigel

ORANGEVALE, CA – David passed away on December 12, 2023. David was born February 27, 1957 to Thomas Arent Meigel and Annie Elizabeth Thomas.

David proudly served in the United States Air Force as a musician for over 20 years, attaining numerous awards and the rank of Technical Sergeant. Also, he was Captain in the Civil Air Patrol for a number of years. After retiring from the United States military, David obtained his bachelor's degree in Information Technology in 2001, graduating magna cum laude from National University. He enjoyed being an active member of the Toastmasters and Parliamentarian Clubs near Sacramento, California, where he was surrounded by many friends.

David is survived by his sister, Robin Meigel of Washington D.C. and many cousins, including H. Richard Hagen (and Christianna) of New Lenox, Illinois, Ronda (nee Hagen) Lancaster of Newark, Delaware, Linda (nee Meigel) Jilke (and Robert) of Hanover Park, Angela (nee Jilke) Lackowski (and Lenny) of Hampshire, Illinois, and Robert Jilke Jr. (and Laura) of Denver, Colorado.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the funeral services on January 19, 2024 at 11 A.M. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois, where David will receive full military honors.
