Donald P. Steffens

Don was an architect who was dedicated to his faith, family, and community. He was a lector at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church for over 50 years and was active with various church committees. Donald enjoyed playing tennis, golf, fishing, and oil painting. He was a dedicated father and grandfather who loved spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Donald is survived by his children, Bruce R. (Patricia) Steffens, Susan M. (Walter) Gullick, Laura L. McGuiness, Robert P. (Janet) Steffens; grandchildren, Corynn, Brent, Michelle, Brian, Caitlin, Jenna, Amy, Laura, Brianna, Melody; his great-grandchildren, Dahlia, Lucia, Benjamin, Avery, Reagan, Auron, Aurelia; and sister, Rosemary Steffens.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rita M. Steffens; parents; daughters, Kim and Kathy; sister, Arlene Olk; and son-in-law, Patrick McGuiness.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to St. Alphonsus Ministry of Care.

Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 9:30 AM until time of service at 10:30 AM at Saint Alphonsus Liguori Church, 411 N Wheeling Rd, Prospect Heights, IL 60070. Entombment to immediately follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
