

Edward S. GallOf Des PlainesEdward S. Gall was born on December 23, 1926 in Chicago to John and Sophie (nee Szczpaniak) Gall. He died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Arlington Heights.Edward served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked as an accountant for United Airlines in Elk Grove Village. He was a member of St. Emily"s Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect. Edward LOVED working in the garden and just being outside around the house. He loved to cut the lawn and did it until about 4 years ago, himself. Edward did everything around the house himself, with regard to maintaining his home, painting, wall papering, woodwork, etc., and was very handy. He loved babysitting for his grandchildren and could not do it enough and was a huge part of their formative years. Edward loved to drive and would take our brother Michael on rides up to Wisconsin so that they could be together and go different places and see different things. He loved to travel and he took his children to many destinations showing them/us the world and different cultures. Edward loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was loved by all. Edward is survived by his spouse of 55 years, Adeline (nee Egan), whom he married May 13, 1961 in Chicago; children, Maureen (Dan) Dote, Michael Gall, John F. (Anne Marie) Gall and Kathleen (John) Casillas: grandchildren, Anthony Dote, Nicole Dote, Adam Casillas, Julia Casillas and Emma Casillas; sister, Genevieve (the late Martin) Kiolbasa; sister-in-law, Joan Gall; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Walter Gall, Anna (James) Spinelli, Helen (Chester) Goc, Mary (Vernon) Robertson, Bernice Kubicz, Angela Gall and Chester Gall. Visitation Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers 9:15 am Monday, September 26, 2016 at the funeral home proceeding to St. Emily Catholic Church, 1400 E. Central Rd., Mount Prospect, IL 60056 for a 10:00 am Funeral Mass. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Misercordia Home Heart of Mercy, 6300 N. Ridge Avenue, Chicago, IL 60660. .
