Eileen M. Leo was born April 23,1925 in Chicago to Terence and Mary (nee Moran) O’Reilly. She passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Leo worked as a Receptionist for ITW and Service Insurance. She also worked in a variety of part-time positions until her 80th birthday. Eileen and her husband were active members of St. Pascal and St. James parishes. She also was an involved mother of seven at St. Pascal School, Notre Dame High School for Girls and St. Benedict High School. More recently she was a member of Women of St. James and most importantly, a world class shopper!
Eileen is survived by her children, Colleen (Galo) Merino, Janice (Harold) Ekart, Terry (Louise) Leo, Susan (Tony) Skrocki, Maureen Valaski, Brian (Dianna) Leo, Patricia (Michael) Nimietz; grandchildren, Amy (David) Flynn, Katie (Matt) Severance, Brendan (Alyssa) Leo, Jessica Merino (Mike) Thoun, Lida (Tom) Pappas, Tim (Fiancée Shaun-Casey Reyes) Valaski, Chris Valaski, Andrew Merino, Christopher (Lauren Parets) Merino, Matt Ekart, Maggie Nimietz and Benjamin Leo; great-grandchildren, Molly, Brady and Anna Flynn, Max, Julie and Luke Severance, Shepard and Solomon Pappas, Savannah and Grayson Leo, and Milo Merino; brother, Donald (the late Peggy) O'Reilly; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents; and brother, Charles (Patsy) O’Reilly.
Visitation Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd. (capacity limits, PPE requirement, and social distancing in effect), 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers 11:15 am, Friday, April 30, 2021 at the funeral home proceeding to St. James Catholic Church (also with capacity limits and PPE, and social distancing), 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004 for a 12:00 pm Funeral Mass. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
