Elias James Hernandez passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025 after a life marked by love. Born on June 18, 2008, in Chicago, Illinois, Elias was the beloved son of Stephanie (née Reynolds) and Manuel Hernandez, and a devoted brother to Ian. From an early age, Elias carried a quiet depth and a creative soul that touched everyone who knew him. Curious and thoughtful by nature, he possessed a keen mind and a love of learning.
Elias loved being outdoors in God’s creation, especially in the Rocky Mountains. He found joy riding his bike and being around the firepit with his friends. Elias was a fountain pen aficionado and avid writer who expressed his thoughts and emotions with remarkable insight beyond his years. Music was another of his passions, and he found joy and meaning playing the saxophone. Known for his sharp sense of style, Elias carried himself with a unique blend of confidence and grace.
He will be deeply missed by his loving parents, Stephanie and Manuel; his cherished brother, Ian; and his devoted grandparents, Sheryl (the late James) Reynolds, Maria Teresa Pulido, and Manuel Antonio Hernandez. Elias was a dear nephew to Elizabeth (Jon) Smithson and Ana Virginia (Jeremy) Oryhon, and a beloved cousin to Mariana and Julia Oryhon. His presence brought light, laughter, and thoughtfulness to his family and his friends whom he cherished dearly. His memory will forever remain in their hearts.
