Gene was a proud Korean War Veteran and served as a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He also owned and operated Olivo’s Beauty Salon in Arlington Heights/Dunton Court for 40 years.
Gene was the beloved husband of Katherine (Bodor) Olivo; loving father of Michael Olivo, Anne (Mark) Slusarski, Jennifer (Joseph) Miklitsh and Mark (Sarah) Olivo; cherished grandfather of Marissa, Matthew, Ryan and Maryann; dear brother of the late John Olivo and the late Ruth Drummond and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, April 4, 2022 from 4-7 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights and Tuesday, April 5 at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to either Catholic Charities (catholiccharities.net) or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (st.jude.org).
