Frances Ann Andersen, of Anoka, Minnesota, and formerly of Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. She was born on December 10, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, to Erluin and Barbara (née Funk) Friedrichs.
Frances grew up in Arlington Heights and graduated from St. Patrick Academy in 1962. That same year, she met the love of her life, Andrew Andersen. The two were married on September 19, 1964, and shared more than 40 wonderful years together. They raised two children, Suzanne (born 1965) and Andrew III (born 1968), and made their home in Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, Libertyville, and Palatine before Frances later moved to Minnesota following Andrew’s passing.
Frances had a lifelong love of reading, puzzles, and travel. She and Andrew—often joined by family and friends—explored the world together and especially enjoyed taking cruises. Frances delighted in decorating for the holidays and hosting gatherings filled with warmth and laughter. Above all, she cherished her three grandchildren, visiting them as often as she could and taking immense joy in their lives.
Frances is survived by her loving children, Suzanne Andersen and Andrew (Traci) Andersen III; her cherished grandchildren, Courtney (Andrew) Wittek, Jessica Andersen, and Andrew Andersen IV; and her brothers, Michael (Cheryl) Friedrichs, David (Pat) Friedrichs, and Lawrence (Margie) Friedrichs, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew C. Andersen Jr., and her parents, Erluin and Barbara Friedrichs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frances’s name to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Suite 105, Lilburn, GA 30047, or online at LBDA.org.
