Franklin A. Donahue was born on November 11, 1931 in Chicago to Jeremiah and Lillian (nee Gentry) Donahue. He died Friday, November 8, 2019 in Arlington Heights.
Frank served in the United States Navy for 4 years during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Warehouse Systems Manager for Navistar International in Broadview, IL for many years before retiring in December of 1998. He was a member of St. Edna Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. Frank loved to attend operas and travel with his wife, and work in his yard. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his seven grandchildren, and his sense of humor was loved by all.
Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years, Johanna (nee Bonazza): children, Suzanne (Karl) Langhammer, Thomas (Jana) Donahue and Carolyn (Dan) Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Lauren (Fiancé Andrew Tassy) Langhammer, Nicholas (Fiancé Katie Kuranty) Langhammer, Caileigh & Jake Donahue, Haley, Sarah, and Brian Fitzgerald; sister-in-law, Mary Reifstek; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jerry Donahue.
Memorial Visitation Monday, November 18, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Memorial Visitation 9:00 am, Tuesday, November 19, 2019 until the 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
