Fred A. Pierucci, 92, of Long Grove, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was the beloved son of the late Angelo and Mary Clara (née Cucci) Pierucci. Fred met the love of his life, Barbara, at just 13 years old, and they shared a lifelong bond of friendship and love that endured until his passing. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Fred went on to build a long and successful career as an engineer with UOP Procon in Des Plaines, Illinois. He and Barbara also enjoyed many cherished years as seasonal residents “sunbirds” in Clearwater, Florida.
Fred will be remembered for his devotion to family, steadfast work ethic, and the warmth he brought to all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Barbara (nee DeWald); loving children Cheryl (Marty) Hall and Jeffery (Cindy) Pierucci. Adoring Grandfather to Stephanie (Bel Carpenter) Pierucci, Melanie (Rafal) Nagorzanski, Valerie Pierucci, Anthony (Danelle) Pierucci, Bethany (LJ) Oca; cherished great-grandfather to Alessandra, Arabella, Hunter, Francesca, Luca and Anthony. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and extended family. Loving uncle and friend to many.
Visitation for Fred will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Glueckert Funeral Home. Entombment to follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
