Frederick Walter Konieczny

Frederick Walter Konieczny, 86, was born August 24, 1937, in Chicago, IL to Walter and Stephanie (nee Kolodziejski) Konieczny. He died Monday, August 28, 2023, at Bella Terra Wheeling, in Wheeling, Illinois.

Mr. Konieczny was a talented artist known for his work as an engraver in the print industry. After graduating high school, Frederick embarked on a successful career as an artist, honing his skills as an engraver, eventually retiring from United Engravers.

Outside of his artistic endeavors, Frederick had a passion for ice dancing, fishing, and gardening, finding solace and joy in these hobbies. He was an avid supporter of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bulls, faithfully cheering on his favorite sports teams throughout the seasons.

Frederick's greatest source of pride and joy, however, came from his role as a father and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Michael (Carol) Konieczny, Rita (Joseph) Hendrickson, Margaret Konieczny, and Patricia (Robert) Veller; his grandchildren Christopher (Janet), Timothy, Cindy (Richard), Joseph, Joseph, Daniel (Miranda), Michelle, Alex, Megan, Grace, Jack and Paige; his great-grandchildren Vincent, Jordan and Reagan.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (nee Nowotny), his son Stephen and his parents.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and Thursday, August 31, 2023 at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL from 9:00 until time of funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment following at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
