He is survived by his beloved wife, Angela Butler, and their three children: Mark Butler, Robert (Debbie) Butler and Joanne (Joseph) McCluskey. His legacy lives on through his four cherished grandchildren: Chris (Betsy) Butler, Jason Butler, Emily (Josh) Grittner, and Sarah McCluskey. He is preceded in death by his parents Kellogg and Olga (Anderson) Butler, and sister Patricia (Don) Moser.
George proudly served in the United States Navy during both World War II and the Korean War. His commitment to defending his nation was a testament to his courage and love for freedom. George's military service shaped his character, instilling in him the values of honor, duty, integrity, and hard work which he carried with him throughout his life.
Beyond his military service, George was a loving husband to Angela, a devoted father, and a doting grandfather. He cherished every moment spent with his family, creating lasting memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
In his free time, George enjoyed gardening and wood carving, and he often shared these passions with his family, creating beautiful gardens and wood carvings that will be cherished forever. His smile, sense of humor, and stories of his incredible life experiences will forever brighten the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
George's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of honor, dedication, and love will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing him.
