Guy M. Trippi, died peacefully on November 3, 2020. He was born February 26th, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Marie Trippi. His parents came from Italy and initially settled in Louisiana and later moved to Chicago, Illinois where Guy, their only child, was born.
Guy had a passion for playing sports, particularly 16” softball, watching professional Chicago teams, regularly connecting with his fraternity brothers, and showed an interest in antique car shows. He graduated from DePaul University in 1960 where he studied business and met his current wife, Marian.
Guy was a member of the ROTC program at DePaul University. He served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant. He received a Certificate of Achievement as a Brigade Officer for meritorious service demonstrating outstanding qualities of leadership, initiative, and professional competence at Fort Sill, Oklahoma from 1962-1963.
Professionally, Guy was President and Co-Owner of SGC Construction, Inc. based in Chicago, Illinois where he built garages for Sears for nearly 30 years. After moving to Naples, Florida in 2001, Guy worked for H&R Block as a tax accountant. He retired in 2016.
Guy was previously married and is survived by two daughters, Lori and Carol who reside in Illinois.
In 1988, Guy and Marian married, and he became stepfather to six children. He is survived by his loving stepchildren: Anthony Aiello, James Aiello, Catherine Decker (Aiello), John Aiello, and Ann Sander (Aiello). Guy is also survived by 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Michael Aiello.
Visitation from 9:00 am until time of prayers at 11:30 am, Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois (Face masks are required, social distancing and capacity limits are in effect. Guests should prepare to wait outside for entry) proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois for Mass at 12:00 pm (Masks and distancing also required). Burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.
