Gwendolyn T. McDonald

Gwendolyn T. McDonald (nee Topping), 97, of Arlington Heights was born May 9, 1914 in Arlington Heights and passed away April 2, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Gwendolyn was the beloved wife of the late John Francis McDonald Sr; loving mother of John Francis McDonald Jr, Sandralyn Bourseau, and the late Kevin Robert and Colin William McDonald; proud grandmother of Lauren (Brad) Houslet, Joan (Dan) Nelson, Christopher (Christine) Bourseau, Matthew (Dawn) Bourseau, and the late Russ H. Bourseau; and great-grandmother of Alex, Gabby, Colby, Piper and Autumn. Mrs. McDonald was born and raised on her family farm, which was established in 1871. It was located at 210 S. Arlington Heights Road. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights for over 80 years. Gwendolyn joined the Arlington Heights Women's Club in the 1920's. She was preceeded in death by her two closest friends, Marion O'Connell and Eleanor Nichols, both of whom were also lifelong residents of Arlington Heights. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday April 5, 2012, at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL, 60004, where funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday April 6, 2012. Interment will be in Ridgewood Memorial Park in Des Plaines.
