

James Donald McLaughlin Of McHenry, formerly of Arlington HeightsJames Donald McLaughlin, age 82, was born September 25, 1931 in Chicago to George and Josephine (nee Pellage)." He passed away Friday May 30, 2014.Jim was raised in Park Ridge, played on the Maine Township High School varsity football team, attended University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana) where he pledged Sigma Chi fraternity. Jim served in the Unites States Army." He worked as a Residential Brokerage Manager for Wm. L. Kunkel Realtors in Des Plaines. After retirement, he worked as a real estate sales rep for "Baird Warner in Arlington Heights until 2004. He was an Associate Director Northwest Board of Realtors, designated CRB by National Association of Realtors, member of the Million Dollar Sales Club and achieved numerous recognitions in real estate. Jim taught Home Buyers Clinic at District 214 High Schools. He worked as a Judge of Elections and Precinct Captain, on Arlington Heights Festival, Meals on Wheels, Arlington Heights Youth Center; also, coached youth baseball and softball. After moving from Arlington Heights to Mchenry, he served on the Board of Legend Lakes Homeowners Assn.Jim loved traveling, skiing, gardening and sailing from the Chicago Yacht Club including several Chicago-Mackinac races.Jim is survived by his wife Joan Ellen (nee Guyer), whom he married on May 4, 1963 in Rockford, IL; children Michael James McLaughlin and Amy (Marty) Maciaszek; grandchildren Carolann and Colin McLaughlin, Dillon, Margaret, Ellen and Kira Maciaszek; brother George J. (Tiia) McLaughlin, Jr. of Santa Fe, sister-in-law Nancy (Keith) Hyzer of Rockford, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his Shetland sheep dog, Annie.Visitation Friday, June 6, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004." In-state Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. at The Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 W.
