Jean V. Stuertz, 99, of Arlington Heights was born on November 10, 1925, in Chicago to the late Henry and Molly (nee Seibel) Stuertz and passed away on November 24, 2024. Jean was a devoted sister of the late Shirley and dear cousin of the late William (Lois), late Herbert (Carroll), Charles (Dianne) Stuertz, Lily (late Gary) Haertel and the late Donald Wiegel. Jean was a dear friend to many residents and staff at the Lutheran Home.
In her early years, Jean enjoyed her visits to her Uncle Casper and Aunt Bertha’s farm in Glidden, WI. After graduating high school, Jean was employed at Hales & Hunter, doing clerical work. When the company was sold, Jean was employed by the Hales family to manage financial records for them and their foundation. Jean retired in September 2013 after 70 years, shortly before her 88th birthday.
Jean was an avid reader. She loved traveling the US with her Aunt Anne and the world with her sister Shirley. She remained a faithful chocoholic until her passing. Jean was a long-time member of Living Christ Lutheran Church and nearly 6-year resident of the Lutheran Home, and will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
A visitation for Jean will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the chapel at Lutheran Home, 800 W Oakton St, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 N Milwaukee Ave, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
