

Joan R. Lynch, nee Murphy, (86), passed away surrounded by her three daughters on March 1, 2026. Joan was the loving wife of the late Dr. Miles W. Lynch and beloved mother of Regina Lynch (Alan Voy), Julie (Daniel) Guerin, and Monica (David) Eckrich. Joan was the cherished grandmother of Miles and Charlie (Eckrich), Brian, Bridget and Colleen (Guerin), and step-grandson, James Voy (Darragh). Her precious grandson, John Patrick Guerin, preceded her in death. Joan is survived by her treasured siblings James, Joseph (Mary), Thomas (Diane) Murphy and Margaret Mary (Robert) Thomas and sister-in-law Kathleen Murphy (late Patrick) and many dear nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers Jack, Dan and Patrick Murphy.
Joan was devoted to her family, many life-long friends, and her life was anchored by her deep Catholic faith. She grew up on the south side of Chicago, attended Mundelein College, moved to Mount Prospect, and settled in Northbrook where she and Miles raised their family. After living in Lincolnshire, her last years were spent at The Moorings of Arlington Heights where she received great care in the memory care unit.
Joan had a passion for music, design, and entertaining and found great joy in playing piano, creating beautiful interiors for family and clients, and hosting festive gatherings. Her kind and quiet manner brought people together and made everyone feel welcome and loved.
A visitation will be held Monday, March 9th at 10:00 am at Saint Raymond de Penafort Catholic Church, followed by an 11:00 am funeral mass. Saint Raymond’s is located at Elmhurst Rd. (Rt. 83) & Lincoln St., Mount Prospect, IL 60056. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
