John D. Dodge Of PalatineJohn D. Dodge was born on December 21, 1935 to Everett and Helen (nee Vollmer) Dodge. He passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 in Barrington.John was born and raised on the island of Aruba. He earned his Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from Loyola. He enjoyed a successful career at Abbott Laboratories. Some of John"s coworkers became his sailing buddies. They enjoyed good friendships, racing and exploring Lake Michigan ports.John served Clearbrook in countless capacities including as a member of their Board of Directors. He was also active at his church, St.Theresa"s, and served as a minister of care, mentor, and member of St. Vincent de Paul Society. He had a passion for his family, serving those in need, and the Lord. James 2:22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.The family would like to thank the JourneyCare Hospice team for their care, support, and love.John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy (nee Hoyle); his daughters, Sharon (Roger) Lindsay, Deborah Dodge and Susan (Tim) Campbell; his grandchildren, Kyle, Jessica and Jordan Lindsay and Caitlyn and Ryan Campbell; his brothers, David (Edna) and Stephen (Celia) Dodge; and his sister, Barbara Zarrella.He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Justin Lindsay and his sister, Mary Deborah Dodge.Visitation from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights and Monday, January 5, 2015 St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 North Benton St., Palatine from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am.
