What FUN MEMORIES I have of John when he lived with two other men at their home on Ivy Lane in Arlington Heights! He was such fun and his favorite little quirks were so special! We  went out for breakfast every Saturday morning and met friends at the restaurant and, several times our bill was paid secretly by other and secretive patrons which was SO SPECIAL. John's joy and obsession with McDonald's was such FUN too as he enjoyed going there as often as we could! His wonderful parents, Andy and Louise were such great supporters for him and the program that they made it the most fun time and special time I have ever known! It is so wonderful to see the TOTAL FAMILY support that he had and it was a special pleasure to know him and the family for SO MANY YEARS! Miss you John! So many wonderful memories of John!  John was a beautiful soul .   A few of my favorite memories was at the wedding of Joe and myself.  He was a groomsman, toasted us at the reception, wrapping his arm around mind, playing the harmonica on stage with the band.  John made certain to have the second dance with me, then proceeded to have a dance with my daughter, Sheri.  Also loved going to the movies with John.  What a joy to watch his reactions.  He also visited us at the beach and loved getting on the board and riding the waves. You own a piece of my heart John Miller.  Love you always.  Thank you for coming into my life.  ♥️

My favorite memory of John happened every single time I saw him, a big Ayyyyyyyyyyy and a HUGE hug <3 He gave the best hugs <3 Love you John Miller

I loved John with my whole heart.  He was an Audiology patient, but he made my life special in a way that no one else ever has.  He will be deeply missed.  See the photos under a separate message.  I’ll never forget how at one visit near Christmas he pulled out a harmonica and spontaneously began to play.  His sister Mary and I had such a laugh.  I also had to have two People, or other celebrity magazines, on hand for his visits.  We started off with one, but I gave him two on one occasion,  and it was two going forward.  He loved to tickle, laugh and joke around.  He was simply the best!!!❤️

There are so many happy memories we have of our time together with John. Elizabeth and Uncle John had a very special bond, and we were lucky to have many fun adventures together with him! His smile and laugh and love for those around him will be truly missed! John was a gift to everyone that he met and made us all better people for knowing him. I send all my love, support and wishes for peace to the entire Miller Family.  Growing up, your family home was so welcoming to so many of us.  What stood out to me was that it was so evident that you loved each other.  We always included John in adventures to McD's, the mall, swimming at the pool and movies!  I remember getting my sign for my name from John...he helped pick it (a "C" on the left shoulder)... I smile as I remember him pouring a big cup of Pepsi at the kitchen table which always had room for all of us.  I loved his laughter, so infectious.  He loved his family so much and he was a blessing to everyone.  Jean I remember John seeing you at your prom and your wedding..."WOW" he said, he knew you looked so beautiful.  Thank you Miller family for sharing him with us.  We are certainly better people for having known him.

I have great memories of John from growing up in Regent Park.  He loved going to the pool and was always prepared with his towel around his neck.  All the neighbor kids used to gather in the Miller kitchen and sit around their big table.  We would eat John’s favorite-fried bologna and ketchup sandwiches! John would point to each of us and say “Okdawadawa” and we would repeat it back!  My family still says this funny phrase to this day.  I feel lucky to have known John and his wonderful family. John was a bright light in a world were things can get dark. I truly loved how much excitement and pleasure he found in the small things - things many of us often overlook and take for granted. I think we could all learn something from his life.  I’m fortunate to have met him ❤️

My favorite, special, fun sized uncle, If love could have cured you, you would have lived forever. From Disney cruises, to trips to the farm and even small outings to McDonald’s. I’m glad we got to spend the time we did together especially after you moved in (only good thing that came out of covid). I’m glad you made it to my wedding and thank you for dancing with me. Thank you for accepting my husband, Josh (“the boy”) into our family. I’m going to miss your “morning! 🎶” followed by a hug, your over the top tickles, and I think I’ll even miss the Wizard of Oz on loop for the 5,362nd time. Thank you for teaching me it is okay to be different 🤟 I love you John, see you later.

John taught me so much about resilience and determination.  His laugh was like no other and he was a good friend to many. And no matter how many times he ‘decorated’ his room, you had to admire that spirit!  John had nicknames and special signs for everyone at Nathan and he would get them laughing with his antics.  He and Eddie would have a snort laughing contest, and neither would be the one to give up!  I’m a better person for knowing him and his friends.  Love and peace to you all.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.  my prayers are with you and your family. He will always live in your hearts.

John would get up early and walk next door to steal my Dad's Chicago Tribune Daily!! He'd take the newspapers and hide them under his bed. My dad was going bonkers lol.  He called the tribune complaining he wasn't getting his papers for awhile. Finally a family member found them in his bedroom!!  He was the paper smuggler!!

I came to know John through Mary, my high school friend. After I’d been around often enough, John created a sign for my name - a ‘J’ on the opposite cheek from his sign for Jean. I was honored. May he rest peacefully with their mom and Paul.  With warm memories and love, Janet

There are moments etched in my memory, too many to count, too few to take for granted, and all are cherished.  To be welcomed into his presence with his smile and expressive greeting is a gift.  Playing silly games, his inventive activities, windup toy, hugs of love, joy,  laughter, and dancing.  A life well lived and a teacher to us all. At peace surrounded in Love.  Auntie Jo
