Joyce M. Hennessy

Joyce Hennessy, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and God-mother passed away peacefully on July 21, 2023, in her family's company. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will live in the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Tom, and brother Michael (Maureen) McDaniel.

Joyce was born on November 3, 1934, to Roscoe and Mae McDaniel in Chicago, IL. On May 7, 1955, Joyce married the love of her life, Thomas P. Hennessy, and they shared a bond that inspired all who knew them. As a devoted Mother, Joyce raised six wonderful children: Tom Hennessy, Dan Hennessy, Kathleen (Terry) McDevitt, Mary (Dale) Kukla, Annemarie (Tony) Sherman and Theresa (Kris) Meyer. The nurturing spirit and unwavering support shaped their lives and instilled in them the values of compassion, kindness, and resilience.

Joyce's family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in her role as a grandmother. She was blessed with twelve grandchildren, each holding a special place in her heart. Her love and devotion extended to her fourteen great-grandchildren, bringing her immeasurable joy in her later years.

Throughout her life, Joyce was known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. She had the gift of bringing people together and creating cherished memories through family gatherings and celebrations.

Joyce's legacy will continue to thrive through the lives of her family, who will forever cherish the lessons she taught them and the love she shared.

Visitation Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Mary Parish 10 North Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089. Interment to follow at St. Mary Parish Cemetery.
