She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights; was a lover of nature, animals, and reading." Joyce loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and was loved by all.She is survived by her spouse of 51 years, Charles, whom she married January 16, 1965 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Chicago; her children, Christopher (Diane), Van den Avont; Craig (Sandy) Van den Avont and Cynthia (Andrew) Snarski; grandchildren, Margaret, Alexander, Mark, Andrew,Jr., Madeline, William and Henry; and many cousins.Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother John Otten.Visitation Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 9:00 am until time of prayers at 11:00 am at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL" 60004, proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, for mass at 11:30 AM."
