Judy was born on October 20, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter M. Kriston; parents, Adelor and Laura Storhaugh; sister, Laura Al Khatib; and grandson, Kevin Kriston.
She is survived by her cherished children, Deborah (Michael) Rohrwasser, Christopher (Yvonne) Kriston, Catherine (Thomas) Micinski and Darren (Amy) Kriston; dear grandchildren, Christopher (Erin), Kyle (Veronica), Grace (Tommy), Ashley (Andrew), Stella, Chloe, Haden, and Harrison. Judy also leaves behind treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, and groups of friends with whom she laughed and loved dearly. She is a forever role model to her beloved family.
Judy loved to travel and explore––she never stopped learning. As a lifelong student, her daily life was filled with art, books, and of course, the daily news. She often dedicated her time to her community, advocating as secretary of her condo board and executive board member at Luther Village.
Her favorite time was spent with her family, talking, laughing, and exchanging stories. Judy had the rare ability to make sure those around her felt loved and seen. She was an exceptional listener, and her grandchildren can testify that she rarely forgot a detail. People were naturally drawn to her, and she loved to entertain. Her joy, humor, and love were infectious.
