

Born January 12, 1940, to Charles and Helen, Judy Schmueser grew up on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. She spent most of her career in trade publishing and worked for McKnight Medical Communications as a Vice President.
Judy was actively involved in her community and served as the condo association president at Brooke Estates in Highland Park. She was also president of the Women’s Ad Club, reflecting her leadership and long-standing involvement in the publishing and advertising community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen, and by her brothers, Chuck and Bobby.
Judy had a lifelong appreciation for opera and live theater. She loved trying new restaurants and cherished spending holidays and birthdays with her LaMonica family. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards, dominos, and reading. Known for her positive, easygoing nature, Judy brought happiness to those around her.
She is survived by her best friend of 62 years, Joanne LaMonica. Judy was a beloved honorary aunt to her godchild, Paul LaMonica (Josette), and his brothers, Mike (Stephanie), Joe (Marta), and John (Jenny). She was also lovingly known as “Aunt Judy” to the LaMonica family and their children.
Judy will be remembered for her leadership, her love of the arts, and making those around her happy.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 820 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The funeral mass will follow at church starting at 10:00 AM. After mass there will be a luncheon followed by burial at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, 87th Street and Hamlin Ave., Evergreen Park, IL 60805. If you would like to attend the burial guests are asked to arrive at the cemetery promptly at 2:30 PM. We will be meeting at the main entrance then going to the interment chapel for committal prayers.
