Leona C. De Koker of Arlington Heights passed away on November 2, 2022. She was born on January 22, 1935, in Goodland, IN to Glenn and Alta Hickle. The second of eleven children, she grew up and attended schools in Lansing, IL andgraduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Chicago. She worked in a variety of nursing positions for 44 years, most recently at Northwest Community Hospital in Intensive Care and retired in 2000.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William; sons Gary and Stephen (Natalie); and 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Grace, and Jake. Lee was predeceased in death by her parents and all ten of her siblings.
She met Bill while studying Hawaiian Guitar at Monarch Conservatory of Music where they both studied music and performed in many concerts and competitions at various venues in Illinois.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Funeral Service and Interment will be private.
