Lois Ann Simms (nee MacDonald) was born on October 29, 1929 in Evanston, Illinois to Donald S. and Theresa Frances (nee Mayr) MacDonald. She died Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.
Ms. Simms attended Rosary College (now Dominican University) before working for Pan Am/Mexicana Airlines and then worked as a Secretary for US Government in Vietnam before working as a computer programmer at The Pentagon until she retired and returned to her home town of Chicago.
Lois was an active member of the Catholic and Bridge Club community at Sedgebrook in Lincolnshire. She was a worldwide traveler as well as being an avid Bears fan.
Lois took great pride in her ‘Clan Donald of Glencoe’ and enjoyed doing ancestry research.
Lois is survived by her cousins Mona Andrea Mayr, Bernard J. (Ruth) MacDonald, Margo Ann Larson and Merlina Alyce (Paul) Perkowski.
She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved brother, Donnie.
Funeral Mass 10:00 am, Friday, August 13, 2021 at St. Mary Parish, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
