Marcha Howes

Marcha Ann Howes, 72, died at her home in Hoffman Estates on December 23, 2025. Marcha was born on July 15, 1953 in Bethesda, Maryland to Charles Edward Howes and Margaret Binkley where both of them were working at the time, he at the FBI and she at the naval hospital. Marcha grew up in Palatine, Illinois before graduating from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana where she received her B.A. She received her MSW from University of Illinois, Circle. A devout Christian all of her life, she was able to manifest her faith and her compassion in the social work career she chose, caring for children housed within the system; for many years she worked with children at the Larkin Center in Elgin. Towards the end of her career, she began working with seniors in the Chicago suburbs, helping them deal with age-related issues, a change she found challenging, but rewarding. Marcha was a kind and gentle soul who loved God, family, animals, movies, and salsa dancing, and she will be missed by everyone who loved her. She is survived by her husband of ten years, Enrique Sandoval, whose tender care for Marcha during her five year battle with cancer we will be forever grateful for, her son Jeff, daughter-in-law Morgan, her three adorable grandchildren, Eliana, Finley, and Lochlan, her brother Charles, and sister Kristine.

A committal service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, located at 2501 E. Euclid Ave. Arlington Heights, IL. The service is scheduled for January 2, 2026 starting at 1:00pm.

Nacida el 15 de julio de 1953 en Bethesda, Maryland, Marcha fue hija de Charles Edward Howes y Margaret Binkley, quienes trabajaban en ese momento en el FBI y en el hospital naval, respectivamente.

Marcha creció en Palatine, Illinois, y se graduó de la Universidad de Illinois en Urbana-Champaign, donde obtuvo su licenciatura. Más tarde, obtuvo su Maestría en Trabajo Social en la Universidad de Illinois, Circle. A lo largo de su vida, su fe cristiana y su profunda compasión guiaron su camino. Como trabajadora social, dedicó su corazón a cuidar a niños en el sistema de bienestar, laborando durante muchos años en el Larkin Center de Elgin. Al final de su carrera, amplió su amor y dedicación a los adultos mayores en los suburbios de Chicago, ayudándolos a enfrentar los desafíos de la edad, un trabajo que, aunque desafiante, le brindó gran satisfacción.

Marcha era un alma bondadosa y llena de luz, que amaba a Dios, a su familia, a los animales, las películas y el baile de salsa. Su risa, su ternura y su espíritu serán recordados y extrañados por todos los que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla y amarla.

Le sobreviven su querido esposo Enrique Sandoval, cuya ternura y cuidado durante los cinco años que Marcha luchó contra el cáncer siempre serán recordados con gratitud; su hijo Jeff, su nuera Morgan, y sus tres adorables nietos Eliana, Finley y Lochlan; así como su hermano Charles y su hermana Kristine.

El servicio de despedida se celebrará en el Cementerio Memory Gardens, ubicado en 2501 E. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights, IL, el 2 de enero de 2026 a la 1:00 p.m. Será un momento para honrar su vida, su amor y su legado, y recordar la huella imborrable que dejó en todos nosotros
