

Marilyn Lee Hart, a constant source of love and laughter, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on December 7, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, Marilyn's life was filled with joy, family, friendship, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. She departed this world in Arlington Heights, Illinois, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and caring that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Marilyn's journey began as the beloved daughter of the late Beverly and Leroy Gordon. Her path in life was one of devotion and selflessness, a testament to the values instilled by her loving parents. With open arms and a heart full of love, she embraced her role as the cherished wife of Herb Hart for 48 years. Together, they built a life rich in laughter and shared moments that would become the bedrock of their family's memories.
As a mother, Marilyn was nothing short of extraordinary. Katie (Tom) Stanhope and Emily (Jack) Jordan knew the depth of her love and the strength of her support in every endeavor they pursued. The joy of her life was further multiplied by her role as a proud grandmother to Brooklyn and Madi, whom she adored with every fiber of her being.
Marilyn's family circle extended to her brother, Kenneth (Mary) Gordon, and sister, Gloria (Mark) Mammen, who will forever remember her as a guiding light in their lives. As a sister-in-law to Linda (Lowell) Streufert and Wendy Hart, she formed bonds that transcended mere familial ties, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Her nieces and nephews, Steven Gordon, Kimberly (Aaron) Wichman, James Streufert, Amy (Ed) Umansky, Lindsey (Peter Panagakos) Mammen, and Morgan (Serena Paschall) Mammen, will carry forward her legacy of humor and compassion. Dear daughter-in-law to the late William and Muriel Hart. Marilyn's fur-grandchildren, Kasey and Junior, were also recipients of her boundless affection and care.
Marilyn's dedication to her home and family was the cornerstone of her life's work. She took immense pride in creating a warm and welcoming environment where memories were made and traditions were honored. Her love for Christmas and the winter season was infectious, and she embraced the snow with the same enthusiasm she brought to every aspect of her life.
Family game nights were a favorite pastime for Marilyn, who reveled in the joy of passing out white elephant gift prizes. Her love of reading provided her with endless topics of conversation and wisdom, which she generously shared with all. Marilyn's sense of humor was one of her most endearing qualities, with her love for jokes and her knack for making people laugh leaving an indelible impression on those around her.
Marilyn was indeed the glue of her family, always eager to pick up the phone and connect with her loved ones, no matter the distance. Her advice was sought after in all matters, as she possessed an uncanny ability to provide guidance on everything and anything. Her selflessness was her hallmark; she consistently put the needs of others before her own, embodying the true spirit of giving.
Her remarkable memory was legendary; no birthday or special event was ever forgotten, and her attention to detail in celebrating these moments made each one feel incredibly special. Marilyn was also known for her playful side, often pulling practical jokes that would leave everyone in stitches.
Marilyn Lee Hart's life was filled with love, laughter, and selfless devotion. As she reunites with her loved ones in eternal peace, her spirit lives on through the countless lives she touched. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments and the importance of keeping family close to our hearts. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL. There will be a service at 12:00 PM followed by interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL.
