Gail, I came across your mom's obituary when I typed your maiden name into Facebok. I'm so sorry to learn of her death; I remember her the way I remember all my friends' moms...kind, patient, around but never hovering... just the way we wanted them to be. She pierced my ears-they're still pierced, 40+ years later!-and required a note from my parentsto do so. My dad wrote that I had his permission to "put two more holes" in my head--such a wry guy. 
Both of my parents are gone now, and I know how challenging that first year after their deaths was...the first holidays without them, the small moments that seemed to jump out at me at the least expected times, the events they missed. I miss my mom every day, but I don't mind the fleeting ache in my throat--missing her keeps her close. 
Know that I'm thinking about you as the one-year anniversary of her death approaches. Take care.

Dear Guilfoil Family,
When I think of Mary I think of pure joy. She had such a great sense of humour and intelligence. She was a pure joy to work with as a fellow school nurse in Elgin. She will be missed. 
My thoughts and prayers are with the family, she loved you all so much

Mary was a wonderful neighbor. She had such a joyful outlook on life with a ready smile and laugh. We were blessed to have her in our lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all now.

Aunt Mary, I will always remember summer vacations at your house, & the good times we all shared. Love you!

Mary and I were always close.  We were often pregnant with some of you at the same time and used to tease each other.  The interment years for Jack exacted a toll the Chicago area we met often to play bridge and to see Ed and Lu Hughes who were also good friends of Jack and Mary.  We had some nice visits over the years,  She was always hospitable and opened her home to me and all my children.  I will miss her and pray for her.  I am now the only one left of that generation,  It is a lonely feeling.  Good-bye Mary,I love you. I go to daily Mass and I will remember her in my prayers.  Love to all, Aunt Pat

I remember the wonderful times we all had in Arlington Heights (and Chicago) when we were kids...it's very sad to see one more of the adults from that era gone...Mary, we loved you!

The photos you added were great.  It reminded me of the movie "Titanic" where the woman who survived, Rose, lived such a full and wonderful life.

Mary lived two doors down from my parents in Arlington Hts for years and was always a very sweet natured lady.  Please accept my family's deepest sympathy.  May God be with you all at this difficult time.

What a great women Aunt Mary was.  I remember many times as a kid stopping by her house with my Mom.  She had a wonderful laugh that I won't forget.  She'll be missed.  I'm so sorry for her loss.
