Mary E. MacDonald

Brattleboro, Vermont and Northfield, Minnesota.

Loving aunt of Heather Blomberg, dear great-aunt of Jack Blomberg and cherished friend of Margaret Giuntini. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ruthella MacDonald and her brother Archie MacDonald.

For many years, Mary worked as a graphic designer of textbooks at Scott Foresman Publishing. She was an avid traveler who explored destinations around the world and the United States. Among the many places she visited, her favorites included England, Barcelona, Venice, and Yosemite National Park.

Mary had varied interests. She loved to ride horseback, and even owned a horse for several years.  She took sailing lessons on Lake Michigan and went skiing on Mont Blanc. She was a patron of the arts,  frequently attending performances of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera and local theater companies. Fine dining was high on her list of activities. She pursued oil painting in her younger years and more recently enjoyed creating jewelry, in both silver and a variety of beads.

Services and interment will be private.
