Myron Joseph Gaylord was born July 23, 1941 in Moline, IL to William Henry and Ethel Josephine (nee Danek) Gaylord. He died February 1, 2022 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Mr. Gaylord received his degree in business from the University of Illinois in 1967, and a MBA with honors from the University of Chicago in 1973. Noted financial author, prolific jigsaw puzzle enthusiast, expert fisherman, lousy (but persistent) basketball player, Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce, CPA, MBA, RIA, real estate broker. He was an active member of Southminster Presbyterian Church.
Myron retired in 1980 at the age of 38, after 19 years experience in engineering design, production management, research and marketing management. He soon became engaged in helping his friends, family and neighbors to plan their savings and investment strategies and enjoyed himself so much he built an office in his basement and formed Invesco, LLC, which is still thriving and growing over 40 years later.
Myron is survived by his wife Sally Louise (nee Prosser) Gaylord; his daughters Diane M. Baker and Laura (Ryan) Gross; his grandchildren Robert, Philip, Adam, Cynthia, Evan and Asher; his siblings Paul Gaylord, Barney Gaylord, Kathy Eckhardt and Tom Gaylord as well as by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister Mina, his brother Charles and by his parents.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 916 E. Central Road, Arlington Heights. The service will be live streamed due to covid restrictions, in-person visitors will be limited.
Myron requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Southminster Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights.
