Hi Mom,

Wow, been awhile since I wrote an entry. Please know that I think of you every single day, and always feel your love shining down on me.
One week from today, Joe and I will be married 11 months. Already coming up to our 1 year anniversary. One week from tomorrow is the 10 year anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Where in the world does the time go?
I guess we don't always realize how delicate time is until we reflect back. 
I will always cherish the memories and time I had with you Mom.

Hi Mom,

Mother's Day is tomorrow. Even though I can't celebrate it with you, I will always remember what a wonderful Mother you were.
I will always smile when I think of all our laugh-till-we-can't-breathe kitchen table moments, going to movies together, walks with the dogs, lengthy phone chats, shopping till we drop, and the list is endless.

Hi Mom,

Well it is finally May, and spring is still very slow to emerge. The trees are just now showing signs of new life.
I start teaching my craft class tomorrow, and I know how proud of me you would be. I will use that as my guide as I begin this new chapter.

Hi Mom,

I was making a strawberry cream bundt cake today, and the smell reminded me of a fond memory with you.
When I had my wisdom teeth out (not the fond part), you made me strawberry ice cream jello for 2 weeks straight! You made batch after batch, and made all of it with love because you knew how much I loved it and how sore my mouth was.

Wow, already the end of March, and two months since you left this earth.
Found a very fitting saying about Mothers online...
"There's magic in a Mother's touch, and sunshine in her smile. 
There's love in everything she does to make our lives worthwhile.
We can find both hope and courage just by looking in her eyes.
Her laughter is a source of joy, her words are warm and wise.
There is a kindness and compassion to be found in her embrace, and we see the light of Heaven shining from a Mother's face.

I recently received a sympathy card from close friends, and wanted to share the poem inside.

Life is a journey of sweetness and sorrow, Of yesterday's memories and hopes for tomorrow, Of pathways we choose and detours we face with patience and humor, courage and grace, Of joys that we've shared and of people we've met who have touched us in ways we will never forget.

Came across something you had written on a scrap of paper and thought it was very meaningful.

I think you included this in a yearly Christmas letter you had sent out. Nice to revisit it.

Hi Mom,

Can't believe it has been one month today since you passed away.
Time seems to stand still when we want it to fly, and zip by when we want to hold it still.
I almost picked up the phone to call you yesterday when I saw a commercial on tv for a silly sitcom we used to watch coming back on in the spring.
Looking so forward for spring time to arrive.

I am certain it has been on there awhile, and that I have seen it before. The words rang out more true today then ever before.

Nancy was the epitome of positive attitude. She always looked for the bright side. She remembered every birthday and anniversary and we will miss the cards and letters. She adored her family and was so loved. I wish we had lived closer to be more a part of these past years but even being miles away she was a friend who understood, shared, cared, and smiled through it all. Peace to you,Nancy and your family.

Hi Mom~

This is some snowstorm we are having. Someone said it nicely last night...they said maybe it will slow the world down a bit for at least a day or two.
Not to mention, allow people who were alive to see it, remember the storm in winter of 1967. I saw pictures of it on the news today. It looked like a much simplier time.

The light of love, kindness, and caring of the Nancy I knew, will always shine through her family and friends.  She treasured them deeply.

Nancy was always remembering others!  She has passed on this wonderful trait to her children!  We feel so blessed to have known someone as incredible as the Cumpston Family.  Our deepest condolences and most cherrished memories- with love and strength-The Villalobos Family

Unfortunately God has called one of his angels home. She was not only my Aunt but my Godmother as well. Aunt Nancy was a very special lady.  She always made everyone around her feel cared for and loved. I am really going to miss that! I am relieved that she is no longer in pain or discomfort, but my heart aches for Uncle Ron, Lisa, and Ryan. Hopefully, the sadness of God calling her home will diminish over time and the wonderful memories of her life will bring peace. Just know that she is looking down on all of you from heaven and she is proud. All of my love and prayers go out to you during this difficult time.
