Nancy Ann Evans

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Nancy Evans on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Willow Creek Community Church, South Barrington - Chapel Building B; 67 Algonquin Road, South Barrington, IL 60010. Visitation will be held at 3pm and Service will follow at 4pm. Suggested parking lot for the chapel is parking lot B.

Nancy Ann Evans, a special, generous, loving and full-of-life aunt, cousin, teacher and friend to many entered heaven’s gates on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the age of 75.

Nancy was preceded in death by her loving and devoted parents, Oliver and Patricia Evans, and her dear brother, Thomas Evans. She was a very loving Aunt to Tim, Kristy and Sheri. She adored her great nieces and nephews: Aliyah, Chloe, Braylon, Monroe, Jack, Ruby and Noelle.

Nancy was very close with her cousin Linda, who was by her side helping her as her conditions worsened, along with other cousins, family and friends encouraging and loving on her these past couple months as her health declined.

Her faith in the Lord was a strong foundation through the ups and downs of life. She trusted and believed in her savior, Jesus Christ, and the testament of her faith shined through to those around her.

Nancy cared deeply for her family and friends and loved spending time with them. Nancy helped encourage and strengthen those closest to her by sending cards in the mail, text messages, phone calls, planning birthday or milestone dinners to celebrate those she loved and more. She always tried to see the best in people and help those in need. She was a kind-hearted woman who lit up every room she entered. She was passionate about her role as a special education teacher. She had a lot of years to enjoy retirement, and in that time, traveled the world and enjoyed theater/musicals/plays with her loved ones and friends. She was always up for adventure! When her great nieces were young, the children's book series "Fancy Nancy" was a favorite that she would generously give them, so their Aunt Nancy was soon called "Fancy Nancy" too :) Fancy fingernails, fancy jewelry and clothes - all the FANCY!

In honor of Nancy's remembrance, her family is asking that gifts or donations be made to the following charities: St. Jude Children's Hospital, Willow Creek Community Church and St. James Parish (Arlington Heights, IL).
