Nicholas "Nick" Walter Cichon, 26 was born on September 26, 1996 in Arlington Heights, Illinois to Joseph and Kathleen (nee Bartosik) Cichon. He died Saturday, May 13, 2023 at his home in Mount Prospect.
Nick was a 2015 graduate of Hersey High School and later attended Northeastern Illinois University where he graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Working as a delivery driver while going to school opened the door for Nick to start his own business in 2022, NWC Snacks, a snack distribution company.
Nick was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will forever be remembered for his beautiful soul, his big heart, and his generosity.
Nick was very intelligent and extremely hard-working. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed volunteering at "All 4 the Love of Cats" Animal Shelter in Palatine, Illinois which only takes the cats no one else wants. He also enjoyed caring for his pet Tarantula. Growing up, he was very athletic and excelled in basketball, football and baseball. He was highly skilled in any game he played. Nick had the sweetest smile, a hearty laugh and a great sense of humor. He was very charitable and showed great compassion to others. Even in the midst of his own struggles, he would give to the homeless and donate to St. Jude Children's Hospital. He also gave very generous gifts for birthdays and holidays and would often write heartfelt messages in the cards he gave to his loved ones. Nick made the world a better place.
Nick is survived by his parents, Kathleen and Joseph Cichon; his brothers, Erik and Daniel Cichon; his grandmother, Inez Cichon; his aunts and uncles, Phil (Robbie) Cichon, Walter (Renee) Cichon, Keith (Hans Mach) Bartosik, Maria (Mark) Amren, Jennifer King, and Laura (Tom) Mickey; and his many cousins from both sides of his family.
