

Nick Gallo, born November 21, 1929 in Chicago, IL., passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024 at the Moorings of Arlington Heights.
Nick is survived by his daughters Patricia (Mark) Pulikowski, Elizabeth Gallo and Raphaela (Jack) Knight; sister-in-law Adeline Tarin; brother-in-law Robert Smolen; step-brother Richard (Kathleen) Racine; proud and loving Papa to Casey, Jacob, Matthew, Nicholas and Isabella; and caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Sylvia (nee Pliza) Gallo as well as his parents, Raffaele and Isabella (nee Rotondo) Gallo.
Nick was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He worked for the Chicago Transit Authority until his retirement in 1993. During his retirement he spent his time traveling with family, watching his grandchildren, volunteering at Lutheran General Hospital and delivering flowers for Kiko’s Florist in Park Ridge.
Visitation Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights and on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 9:00am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Honor Flight Chicago or the Dementia Society of America.
