

Penelope "Penny" CarsonOf WoodstockPenelope Ann (Penny) Carson, was born on May 10, 1959, in Chicago, IL, to James and Edna (Horky) Lindsey. She died on May 11, 2016 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago from complications following liver transplant surgery.Penny grew up in Arlington Heights, IL, and attended St. James elementary school. She graduated early from Arlington High School, in December, 1976. While still in high school, Penny met and fell in love with Dave Carson. They married on February 17, 1979.Penny was deeply devoted to home and family. She began working while still in high school for her parents at Norgetown Dry Cleaners in Arlington Heights. She worked part-time from home at various jobs while her children were young, and full-time as a creative and meticulous housekeeper. Penny opened her loving heart and beautiful home to family and friends, hosting many memorable parties and family gatherings. To the neighborhood children she was known as "the nicest mom on the block". In 1998, Penny began to work in bookkeeping and human resources at her husband"s business, Mailways, in Crystal Lake, where she continued to work until it closed in 2014.Penny was tough and strong as well as soft and loving, and nothing showed that strength like the way she endured end stage liver disease. During the four years of her illness she continued to take a sincere interest in others, to travel and learn new things, to smile, and to faithfully fulfill her duties as wife and mother while taking an active role in the care of eight grandchildren.Penny is survived by her husband, David Earll Carson; her children, Justin Carson, Rachel (Adam) Greene and Nicole (Michael) Colosimo; her grandchildren, Alexander, Meah, Bella, Abigail, Natalie, Emma, Harper and Ambrose; her siblings, Geoffrey (Toni), Susan Adams, Kevin, Patricia (Eric Dean) Michelsen, Barbara Thorsen, Denis (Kathy), Michael (Teresa) and John and by many nieces and nephewsPenny is preceded in death by her parents, James G. and Edna M. (Horky) Lindsey.Visitation Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N.
