Ralph R. Anderson

Ralph met who would become his future wife, Roberta Gillotte (Bobbie) at York High School. They both attended Lawrence University for four years. After graduating college Ralph enlisted in the Navy, wanting to serve his country. He took leaves to visit the love of his life, Bobbie. They married in 1953.

Ralph worked in the family road construction businesses for many years (the Robert R. Anderson Co., Superior Black Top, and Allied Asphalt). During that time he and Bobbie had two boys, Ralph and Michael. He built a home in Plum Grove Estates (Palatine, IL) to raise his family. Later he built another home in Barrington Hills, IL. Ralph bought another business, Stabilized Aggregates. After the boys moved out Ralph and Bobbie moved to California for 28 years. They moved back to Barrington in 2017 to be closer to the family.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years (Bobbie), his parents (Ralph, Anita & step-mother Florence Anderson), brother (Robert Anderson), sister (Mary Shewalter) and many friends and extended family. He is survived by sons, Ralph (Linda) Anderson, Michael (Susan) Anderson, grandchildren Nicholas Anderson, Shaun (Carolyn) Anderson, Samantha (Thomas Rohn) Anderson and great grandsons River Anderson and Tatum Rohn. Ralph is also survived by half-sisters Kelly Hicks and Faye Anderson and many extended family members. Ralph was loved by many and will be missed by all.
