The first born of parents Dorothy (Teufel) and Ralph Wenzel, Sr. He is survived by his most beloved daughter Amber; his siblings Michael (Laurie), Joan Finley, Bob (the late Barb); his many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his first wife Justine, and second wife Alyce.
Ralph attended St. Mary’s and Marian Central High School in Woodstock. He was not always the easiest child to raise, he marched to his own drumbeat which led him to many adventures. After High School Ralph moved to Alaska, built his cabin home in the forest, hunted, fished, and worked as a carpenter.
Later he moved to California where he met Justine. Together they came home to Woodstock where Amber was born. He raised Amber and later met and married Alyce where they lived in Huntley, Il. Soon after Alyce passed, Amber on her own, he moved to Genoa, IL where Tommy Pappas, a good friend from High School, kept in touch.
He didn’t always agree with the rules of the house, but his family loved him, and he loved them. Ralph wore his heart on his sleeve, cared for others more than himself. His family and friends will miss not only his quick mind and dry sense of humor but his very presence in their lives. They will carry on.
Memorial Visitation Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
May God rest his soul and take Ralph into his loving care until we meet again.
Please, for those so inclined, a few more prayers would be appreciated.
