Rhoda Charlett Merilatt

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton Ave. Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM at church, followed by burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, IL. Rhoda Merilatt, born January 7, 1937 in Normal, Illinois. The daughter of Raymond and Rhoda Allan Charlett. She was raised in Bloomington and graduated from Bloomington High School.

She was a graduate of Chicago Wesley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing (now Northwestern Memorial Hospital) receiving her nursing diploma. She received a BSN from Northwestern University. She worked as a staff nurse and taught at the School of Nursing.

She met Lowell Merilatt at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago where both members and were married there January 25, 1969. They moved to Arlington Heights in 1970. She was active with School District #21at both the local and district level when her children were in school.

She was a 47-year member of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, where she served as an Elder and was on various committees, a volunteer and a long-time member of Presbyterian Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister. She is survived by her daughter, Dina (Scott) Piwowarczyk of Batavia, son David (Julie) Merilatt of Schaumburg and her grandchildren, Matthew and Abigail Piwowarczyk.
