Sister Rita Ramos, Sister of the Living Word, passed away on August 6, at the age of 90. She was the only child of Pedro S. Ramos and Lillian Sokolski. Originally from Chicago, IL she spent her entire religious life and ministry in various missions in the Chicago area, as an elementary teacher for 17 years, and in parish ministry, teaching ESL, and fostering leadership in the Latino community from 1974-1989.
Her commitment to being a bearer of the Living Word to so many, in word and deed will be missed. We are deeply grateful to the care she received the last many years at her residence, Resurrection Life Center.
A visitation for Sister Rita Ramos will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral mass 11:00 AM at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Catholic Church, 920 Granville Ave, Park Ridge, IL 60068. Committal service Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
Donations in her honor would be appreciated to the Sisters of the Living Word.
