Robert Ernest Braun

Robert E. Braun, 83, was born on January 20, 1939, in Waterloo, Iowa to Ernest and Rosa (nee Paul) Braun. He died Friday, January 6, 2023, at his home.

Bob worked with Baxter International Inc., as a Regional Sales Manager up until retirement. In retired life, he assisted with real estate with his wife Thelma through Coldwell Banker.

Bob could be caught watching any Hawkeye football or basketball game. The highlight of his year was always watching the Iowa Hawkeyes play football and basketball. If there were no games on, you would be sure to catch yourself in a conversation talking about any Hawkeye sports season or any of his grandchildren and their lives. Sports have always been a part of Bobs life. He was an avid tennis player, sailor and skier. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as traveling. You could always find him at one of his grandchildren sporting events, or traveling abroad or across the nation to see his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years Thelma (nee Hilsman) Braun: his sister Irene (Dick "Jeff") Reed; his daughters Camille (Kendall) Young and Michaelle Braun; his grandchildren Cody Ringham, Dylan (Evan) Polkinghorne, Josh and Nicole Galam, Kyle, Natalie and Olivia Young; and his son-in-laws Kendall Young and Keith Ringham.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Braun and Rosa (nee Paul) Braun, his daughter, Debra (Keith) Ringham and his brother-in-law Dick "Jeff" Reed.

Visitation will be from Noon until 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
