I remember Bob from highs school and seeing him at class reunions. Such a nice guy, so sorry to hear of his passing.

Sympathies to your family Bob, you will be missed on the tennis court and for your enthusiasm for the sport and your loving character always showing through. Remembering the good times always will get us through your loss, knowing now you are at peace. Reinhold and Dianne

Bob and I have known each other possibly as  early as 1960, when we would get together as kids, since my parents house was close to his grandparents house where he would stay from time to time. (Mrs Hinson you would have to verify my young age memory to make sure it is possibly correct.)  If I remember the story correctly, my Mom may have even helped baby sit him, from time to time. We had a great time playing together in the neighborhood and at his grandparents house. Later after my parents moved close to the bourbeuse river, we went on many fishing and hunting trips on and along the bourbeuse river. As we got older and more car mobile, we would expand our fishing activities to the Mississippi River and even Lake Taneycoma.  Also on the Mississippi River we decided to Water Ski behind Mike's boat that had a larger engine in it than my car did, which meant that when I fell, I ended up skipping across the water like a rock.    Before I forget, we also would play golf from time to time with Uncle Bud.  Now, if you want to see something entertaining, that would be Bob and Uncle Bud going back and forth about who had the best golf game and of course there may have been some bets made on who would play the best! I could go on and on with all the things that we had fun doing together. Mostly, I wanted to say that I will miss Bob dearly and I am very sad that I was not able to make the visitation and the funeral. Also, I would like to offer my deepest sympathy and prayers to Mrs Hinson, Mike, Cindy, James, Ryan and all the Hinson family for their loss of Bob at this time in their lives.

Some folks say... good news & bad news comes in three's... I got a call Tuesday night that my dear Roosevelt University buddy Robert G. Hinson passed away this past weekend of natural causes. Bob was 68 yrs young. We met in a mid-term exam in 1981 and both agreed we needed an ice cold beer after our night school class was over! We became good friends and helped each other graduate from night school. In 1991, we played in a 5 man band NASTY HABITS and played Keif's Reef, Port Barrington on the deck and Broken Oar! I bet Robert's already playing his lead guitar in a band in heaven... Until we finally meet again, keep playing that rock & roll brother.

So sorry to hear of Bobs passing. Having known Bob since my return to Chicago area in 1983 we worked together at Commercial Credit and became great friends since then. Lots of stories to remember with ‘the Hins’…sincere condolences to all the family and friends. I’m sorry I can’t attend the services as I live in Florida now.  Chuck Gerlach

Bob and I were on a business trip together and as we waited for our car, a man with no coat took our ticket.  It was a very stormy evening with lots of snow.  Bob asked the man where was his coat and the man said he didn’t have one.  Bob took off his coat , gloves and scarf and gave it to the man and said we’re about the same size enjoy the coat and we left.  How generous Bob could be was wonderful.  Another story was about bob’s love for animals.  It was a dark cloudy night without a moon you could see and we heard chirping and we heard someone say there’s a bird nest that fell into the sewer that was open and the next thing was someone yelled help.   Bob took off his coat and climbed down the sewer and brought the baby birds to safety.  He was so gentle the momma  bird because he left his clothes on came back and took her babies.  Bob got a standing ovation from the crowd.  It made me feel proud to know Bob.

Had the pleasure of meeting Bob many years ago through his friendship with our brother Jim.  Bob always spoke proudly of his sons Jimmy and Ryan, and was always ready with a hearty laugh and a good-natured dig.  Will really miss his infectious enthusiasm for all of our shared hobbies.  Bob had the lowest handicap, caught the biggest fish, never lost a horse race and seemingly won every Cub vs. Cardinal bet we ever made (even in 2016!).  Our condolences to the Hinson family, we will remember Bob's laughter.

Mrs Hinson, Mike, James and Ryan and the entire Hinson family, I am so sorry for your loss.  What a great friend Bob was to me and my family for the past 50 years - he was one of a kind.  Great times at East Central, with the TKE’s at SEMO, playing Tennis, golf with Uncle Bud, fishing at his Dads Marina, Bar-B-Que’s with Family and friends, and just sitting around tossing back some cold ones telling stories of the great times we had.
