Robert James Tomsovic

Of Arlington Heights, formerly of Chicago

Robert J. Tomsovic was born on June 3,1936 in Chicago to James and Rita (nee Miller) Tomsovic. He died Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Tomsovic served in the United States Army, as a company clerk, in Korea. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant for Elrick and Lavidge in Chicago for 20 years. Robert was a member of the Illinois CPA Society. He was a member of St. Eugene Parish in Chicago for 53 years, where Robert served as a Eucharistic Minister and past school board member. He served as past president, manager and coach for the Oriole Park Boys’ Baseball Association in Chicago. Robert was an avid baseball fan, “History Buff” and had other varied interests. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was loved by all.

Robert is survived by his spouse of 58 years, Roselle (nee Primeau); children, Robert V. (Tina) Tomsovic, Michael (Jim Saunders) Tomsovic and Karen Tomsovic; grandchildren, Michael (Rachel) Tomsovic and Maria Tomsovic; siblings Rita (the late James) Peterson and David (Cristina) Tomsovic; sister-in-law, Farol Tomsovic; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Tomsovic.

Visitation Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Funeral Mass 10:00 am, Friday, July 12, 2019 at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 7958 West Foster Avenue, Chicago, IL 60656. A 12:00 pm Graveside Committal Service will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, 1185 West Algonquin Road, Palatine, IL 60067.
