Of Chicago
Slavka Pavlovic was born on October 30, 1944, in Belgrade, Yugoslavia Bogoljub and Mira Pavlovic. She died Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at home.
Where do I begin........
My little momma was born into starvation & abuse...Mind, body, and soul.
She was born into a war-torn country, deprived mentally, physically, and emotionally.
At age 10 she looked like she was 5. She was shouldered with the responsibility of caring for her younger siblings, two of whom starved to death.
She had a warrior spirit, always tried doing the right thing, and always gave a billion percent in everything that she did. Her character was loving, sturdy, and dependable. She endured a long and difficult life for reasons unknown to us at this time, but there's no doubt that she has now gained wisdom and understanding of her experience here. Peace abides in knowing that her spirit is free.
She is and will forever be deeply missed, and our memories with her cherished.
Slavka is survived by her daughter, Susan Shipanik; her grandchildren, Sean Courtney, Alex Courtney, Alex Denz, and Samantha (Sean Hickey) Denz; her great-granddaughter Amelia; and her nephew Vladica Pavlovic.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Mladen Matulin and Dragan Pavlovic.
Services will be private.
