Sophia Koval

Sophia Koval, of Wheeling, Illinois, joined the angels on July 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of light, laughter, and love. She was a bright spirit who brought joy wherever she went and left an impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sophia had a deep passion for sports and music, always finding happiness in the energy of the Special Olympics or the rhythm of her favorite songs. But above all, she treasured time with her family - her greatest joy was simply being with the people she loved most.

A lover of animals and all things comforting, Sophia never turned down a plate of chicken nuggets, bagels, fries, chips, or a refreshing Sprite - small pleasures that brought her big smiles. Her warm and genuine personality made her unforgettable: always smiling, endlessly positive, and remarkably forgiving. Sophia had a unique gift for letting things go and moving forward with grace, never holding a grudge.

She lived with an open heart, and her kindness was both effortless and infectious. Sophia reminded us all how beautiful life can be when lived with joy, humor, and compassion.

Her sweet memory will forever be carried in the hearts of those who loved her. A visitation for Sophia will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. A prayer service will occur at 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, 600 Lake St, Libertyville, IL 60048.
