Susan M. Brown

Born on October 29, 1953 in Evanston, Illinois. Susan was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, gramma, and friend. She made her home in Buffalo Grove, and spent her life surrounded by the people she loved the most. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Susan was the daughter of the late June and Frank O’Donnell. Her siblings included the late brothers Mike and Steve O’Donnell, sister Nancy Juncer (Ken), brother Tom O’Donnell (Jodie), and her sister Patty O’Donnell (Jeff Pearce).

Susan is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Brown.Together they raised a beautiful family, including their daughter Cindy Thomas (Michael), daughter Kristy Odden (Gary), son Shaun Brown, grandson Tyler, and many nieces and nephews. Her laughter and love will live on through her children and grandson.

While raising her family, Susan worked as a nursery school teacher in the early years. In addition, she worked in dermatology and oncology medical offices where she used her innate skill for the “gift of gab.”Above all, her role as a grandmother to Tyler was her most fulfilling and rewarding job one could have.

Susan loved spending time with her friends, especially going out to lunch and talking for hours at a time. She cherished time “up north,” enjoying the beauty and peace it offered, and always found joy in a trip to the casino for a game of slots. Susan is also known for her love of the color blue, baking chocolate chip cookies, and drinking Hawaiian Punch.

As we say goodbye to Susan, we celebrate the legacy she leaves behind. A legacy of love, family, and the countless lives she touched with her vibrant spirit. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories we share and the love we carry in our hearts. Susan’s journey through life was a beautiful one, and she will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate to be in her presence.

A visitation for Susan will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004, the funeral service will start at 4:00 PM.
