

Vincent Salerno of Gahanna, OH, formerly of Barrington, IL, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He fought a courageous battle against multiple cancers for more than six years. He was born May 23, 1945 to the late Louis and Filomena (Giordano) Salerno in Brooklyn, NY. Vincent earned a BS degree from Siena College and an MBA from Seton Hall University. He owned and managed Renaissance Executive Forums. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Docosa Foods and a VP & General Manager of Borden. He also held various positions at Illinois Bronze, True Value Hardware, Sherwin Williams, Baltimore Paint, and Dutch Boy Paint. Vincent is survived by his loving wife, Diane; children: Valerie (John) Higgins of Las Vegas, NV, Brian (Maureen and children Anthony, Maria, Matthew) of Grand Rapids, MI Michael (Kathy and children Vincent and Mia) of Arlington Heights, IL, and Mark of Gahanna, OH; siblings: Louis (Claire) of Beaver Creek, OH, Rosemary (Mario) Truglio of Bellefonte, PA, and Peter (Donna) of Lake Zurich, IL; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 3 – 8 pm at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said Monday, March 16 at 9:45 am at the funeral home and proceed to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for funeral mass at 10:30am.
