Virginia Mary Fox

Virginia Mary Fox was born May 11, 1938, in Chicago to Edwin T. and Virginia (nee Newell) Wood. She was born into eternal life on January 5, 2023, surrounded by her family at home.

She was an Instructional Assistant in District 214 at Forest View High School, STEP, and Vanguard for many years.

She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend. She was loved bymany and will be missed by all.

Her survivors include her children, Robert T., John J., Joseph P., Mary Lynn Fox and son-in-law Ray Schaeffer. She is the deargrandmother of Ryan and Natalie Schaeffer, Kevin Fox, Michael (Emily) Fox, Kelly (Austin) Stilger, Megan and Sam Patton, and Timothy Lombardi.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert; her parents; her daughter Elizabeth; her son Richard; her brother Edwin Wood; her sister Patricia (James) Flynn; and her stepmother Kate (nee McGann) Wood.

Visitation at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 12th, 2023.
